Making Memories

Wednesday, November 2, 2011

My mom and I took my precious grandmother and my babysitter, who is 100 years old, from when I was little to look at the Fall foliage. All 3 of these women are so dear to my heart and I'm so glad that we were able to spend that time together making wonderful memories.

We started driving around 12:30 p.m. in Morrilton. We left Morrilton on Hwy. 64 toward Russellville, stopped in Atkins, and started up Crow Mountain. We drove around on top of Crow Mountain for a really long time, finally coming down around Russellville.

We stopped by Whatta Burger in Russellville and got milkshakes for everyone and then went through Dardanelle, up the back side of Petit Jean Mountain, and stopped at the Palisades to take pictures.

After stopping at the Palisades, we continued driving over Petit Jean Mountain. We went to see Petit Jean's grave and stopped at a neat little church with no walls at a Lutheran Retreat Center called Camp Mitchell.

Lastly, before we went home, we stopped and took pictures at the sign that welcomes you to Petit Jean Mountain. It was decorated so pretty and was a perfect place to document where we had been that day.

What a wonderful day we had, just driving around together, looking at leaves and reminiscing. I have so much to be thankful for and these 3 women and the times I've been given to share with them are at the top of my list.
